Saint Patrick’s Day and Most Wanted Cocktails

Currently everybody is going gaga over “go green”. There is a place which redefines green, this is Ireland. Long time back Saint Patrick was kidnapped by Irish guys. However he managed to escape just to come back to Ireland (again) and make sure that Christianity prevails out there. Saint Patrick used the three-leaved shamrock to explain Christianity, which eventually became the symbol of Ireland (Green). The three leaves depict-the father, the son and the holy “spirit”. March 17 marks his death and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland leading to an excuse for celebration.

On this day, there is no restriction on drinking, which consequently results in no further restrictions. Over the years, the celebrations spread worldwide. If the fountain at Trafalgar Square in London can go green, Calgary Tower in Canada can turn its light to green (symbol of “Go Green”), Russians can go for a carnival and Opera House in Sydney turns green,  then why don’t you try something green. Since everybody is Irish on March 17, without restrictions on drinks, lets try “go green” drinks. Hope you enjoyed my warm cocktail recipes on Frozen Dead Guys Day. So let’s dance with dizzy fizzy green cocktails.

Enjoy Frozen Dead Guys Day with Hot Cocktails

Here comes the Frozen Dead Guys Day! This is one of the most unique, funny and quirky festivals in the town of Netherlands, Colorado. The festival is a lively one because of it’s numerous events. Coffin Racing, Costume Polar Plunging, Ice Turkey Bowling, Parade of Hearses, Frozen Salmon Toss, Frozen Dead Poet Slam etc. are the major centre of attraction. The festival encourages participation in many such activities. There is a bunch of activities for the music lovers also. There are over 20 Live bands, Friday The 13th “Superstition” Blue Ball, Theatrical Wu Shu performance etc. to cheer the crowd.

There is no doubt that the vibrant festival has earned the title of ‘Top Five Winter Festivals in the Country’. What my generation prefers (I am not that old) is Montreal Jazz Festival. However, I can’t look at this fest with indifference. This fest is funny in a weird way, which is all good for the young ones. A music fest is nothing without a bit of intoxication. “A bit” is a lot for such fests, which is nice as you need to beat the chill. Where jazz fests are about cocktails and smoothness, this is all about binge drinking. Hope you enjoyed Thandai, which was one of the best among the traditional drink recipes. This blog is a blend of hot cocktails to break the cold!

Cheers with Grilled Orange Cocktail for The Battle of the Oranges

Do you know the stories behind the Battle of the Oranges? As per the legend, this festival was started because of the anger of oppressed ones against the ruling class. History says, “he” was someone from the Royal family who was exercising his right to have fun with a commoner. Well, this commoner called “Violetta” knew what sort of fun, this was. Her mother must have advised her to behave properly, but mother was not convincing enough. As he approached her, behind closed doors, she decapitated him. He was the last one to use that right. Since then, people of Ivrea, Italy have been throwing oranges. There are two groups, one represents the Royal family on the cart and other the commoners.

The commoners throw oranges at cart with people portraying as the Royal family, taking out their anger on them. The concept of throwing oranges has a different story too. Violetta might have had skin issues like acne or dry skin. Royal guy must have been honest with her and told her the truth. Being honest with a woman on her beauty cost him his head. She made sure that in future no more heads are decapitated at the cost of skin issues. Since then, oranges are being thrown. Orange reduces wrinkles, acne, dark circles under eye and make hair softer and dandruff free. I love cocktail recipes. So let’s dance with Grilled Orange Cocktail on the orangey day.

The Foodie Affair…

Food for love life?? Yes, we’ve got some delights and combos that add your romantic mood. So improve your love life. Just follow these:-

Romantic Dinner Date

Romantic Dinner Date

The sensuous feeling– Some food are tempting and enticing naturally. This may be because of their texture or color. Red wine and chocolates are the best you can give your girlfriend on a romantic date. Banana custard, melted oysters and strawberries are perfect examples that tempt your lover because of their shape, smooth texture or vibrant color. Meal if taken slowly with eye contact is really sensuous for the couple.

The Chocolate affair

The Chocolate affair

Romantic ambience– The ambience boosts up the mood. Soft lighting along with pleasant music is what every lover craves for. Lovely flowers and charismatic essence of mild perfumes add to your dinner date. Never go for an overcrowded hotel or busy restaurant. Prefer serene place. Decorate the bottle of drink with red ribbon. It’s a must on every couple’s table. This leads to receptiveness, good memories and finally intimacy.

The Love Food For Vegetarians and Vegans

The Love Food For Vegetarians and Vegans

The chemical formula – The food high in zinc increases the level of romance, believe it or not!! Oyster is the perfect example for this. Variety of oyster recipes ranging from appetizers to main dish casseroles are available. Oyster mushroom soup is a good supper to go with. On the other hand try to include chocolate desserts for an exotic date. The reason behind this is the existence of phenylethylamine (PEA), the so called “love chemical”.

Baked Oysters!!!

Baked Oysters!!!

Drink in limit – Always drink without an intention to get drunk. Excess of drinking would make one utmost lousy, hence deleting the romantic mood. Drink till you think you can, in a safe manner. Remember no one likes a drunk person, your fiance will not like it either. Champagne is the only wine that enhances a woman’s beauty. Sparking or rose champagne placed on a neat dining table, yes, the thought is itself so tantalizing… Caviar go very well with champagne. Caviar is a delicacy composed of salt cured fish eggs.

Couple Enjoying The Drink..

Couple Enjoying The Drink..

The balanced food– Relaxing as well as energy giving food must go hand in hand. We feel relaxed while consuming a drink whether it’s vodka, whiskey, beer or wine. On the other hand we need protein to boost up our energy. Contrast does matter. Vegetarians and vegans can go for black Greek olives and sparkling cider. The combo will definitely boost up the romantic mood. Another combo of sweet and sour or dark and salty, adds to your love life.

Just try this!! I’m sure it’s gonna work…
