Oktoberfest, the 16 days beer fest is celebrated in Germany annually, for the honor of Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig’s marriage. The vibrant fest stretches from September 19 to October 4, 2015. Let’s revive some facts and yummz.

  • It must not be surprising if I say around 2 million beer gallons is consumed by 6 million people at the fest.

  • Different tents offer different kind of beer.

  • Capacity a tent can accommodate is 10,000 people.

  • The traditional stein costs around $13 (33 Ounces).

  • People with hangover can rest on the beds arranged by the Red Cross society.

Ingredients:-

Ginger beer,

6 Blueberries,

3 Mint leaves,

4 Strawberries,

1½ oz. Sour Mix,

1½ oz. Tequila.

Preparation Method:-

  1. Muddle strawberries, blueberries, and mint leaves in a cocktail shaker.

  2. Add tequila and sour mix. Shake vigorously and strain into a glass filled with ice. Top with beer. Enjoy!

Ingredients:-

1 Lime zest,

1 bottle Beer,

1½ oz. Lime Juice,

½ oz. Agave Nectar,

Lime wheel for Garnishing.

Preparation Method:-

  1. Combine lime juice, agave nectar, and lime zest in a glass.

  2. Add beer and stir gently. Garnish with a lime wheel. Enjoy!

Chicken Sausage with Potatoes and Sauerkraut

Ingredients:-

1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil,

12 ounces cooked chicken sausage,

1 medium sliced onion,

3 medium sliced potatoes,

1 1/2 cups rinsed sauerkraut,

1 1/2 cups dry white wine,

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper,

1/4 teaspoon caraway seeds,

1 bay leaf

Preparation Method:-

1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

2. Add sausage and onion and cook, stirring frequently, until beginning to brown, about 4 minutes.

3. Add potatoes, sauerkraut, wine, pepper, caraway seeds and bay leaf; bring to a simmer.

4. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender and most of the liquid has evaporated, 15 minutes.

5. Remove the bay leaf before serving.

Crispy Nutty Chicken Cutlets Recipe for Christmas

It’s Christmas time!!! Definitely you’ll not like to be in the kitchen all the time. Hope you liked my recipe Sweet and sour fish balls. Keeping in mind the health of our folks and kids, this time we will rather bake the delectable appetizers.

Almonds provide healthy fats and aid in weight loss. It’s very helpful for nervous system as well. Chicken is natural antidepressant and high in protein. It’s good for bones as well. Trying a bit of variation with the cutlets, here we present Crispy Nutty Chicken Cutlets Recipe on the auspicious occasion of Christmas.

Ingredients:-

4 Boneless, skinless chicken breasts,
1 Cup chopped almonds,
4 Tablespoons unsalted butter,
1 Minced shallot,
1 Cup bread crumbs,
2 Teaspoons finely grated lemon zest,
1 Teaspoon minced fresh thyme leaves,
1/8 Teaspoon cayenne pepper,
3 Large eggs,
2 Teaspoons Dijon mustard,
1/4 Teaspoon ground black pepper,
1 Cup flour.

Preparation Method:-

1. Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position and turn on oven to 350 D F. Using fork, poke each chicken breast 6 times. Evenly sprinkle each breast with 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt. Uncover and refrigerate.

2. Process nuts until they resemble coarse meal. Heat butter in skillet over medium heat, add nuts until they turn golden brown and have nutty aroma. Add shallot and 1/2 teaspoon salt, stirring constantly until just beginning to brown.

3. Simmer heat, add bread crumbs and ground nuts. Cook until golden brown for 12 minutes. Transfer bread crumb mixture to shallow dish. Add in lemon zest, thyme and cayenne. Lightly beat eggs, mustard, and pepper together in separate dish. Place flour in third dish. Pat chicken dry.

4. Dredge each piece of chicken in flour, then coat with egg mixture then coat all sides of chicken with bread crumb mixture. Transfer chicken to a baking dish. Bake for 25 minutes. Let rest 5 min before serving.

5. Serve with lemon wedges, your favorite dip and drink.

Chicken Caesar Salad – A Blend Of Taste And Health

We have discussed about the benefits of Gluten-free diets and related recipes in the blogs titled “A Gluten-Free Smoothie To Beat Summers“, respectively. Now giving that discussion a more delicious shape, I present a true treat for your taste buds in the guise of Caesar Salad. It’s a lip-smacking continental dish that has croutons and romaine lettuce dressed with olive oil, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, eggs, black pepper, and Parmesan cheese.   

The salad actually got its name from its creator Caesar Cardini, an immigrant from Italy who set up restaurants in the USA and Mexico. The dish actually came into being as a result of depletion in kitchen supplies caused by fourth of July rush in the year 1924. It became hip since then. Though the original dish went through several iterations based on regions and taste preferences, while the juiciness and feel remained more or less same. Let’s talk about the popular Chicken variation of the salad.

Ingredients:-

3 Tablespoon Olive Oil,

4 loafs of white bread,

2 chicken boneless breasts,

1 romaine lettuce.

For the Dressing:-

1 block Parmesan Cheese,

1 Tablespoon White wine Vinegar,

5 Tablespoon Mayonnaise,

A Garlic Clove.

Preparation Method:-

1. Cut the Bread with knife and put it over a baking tray and splash a 1 tbsp olive oil on it. Make sure that the oil seeps in breads.

2. Bake it for around 10 minutes. Keep turning the croutons from time to time so that the bread attains even brown texture.

3. Now sprinkle the rest of the oil on chicken breasts. Put them in a pre-heated pan and heat both sides for about 4-5 minutes each.

4. Now take some part of the cheese, and grate it with all the dressing ingredients in a bowl. Season it to taste. Add yogurt and keep stirring to the achieve the desired level of thickness.

5. Now peel the cheese. Cut chicken strips and put it all over the lettuce leaves. Now sprinkle croutons all over it.

6. Add the mixture you made in the above step and the remaining dressing by scattering it all over the chicken and croutons. It’s ready to serve now.

Mughlai cuisine originated in Indian subcontinent during the Mughal Era. Reshmi Kebab or Silken Kebabs is a traditional Mughlai dish served as one of the major appetizers on different festivals and occasions. It is very popular in the Middle East, India and Pakistan. The dish is so called because of the tangy chicken and smooth creamy blend.

The luscious creamy buttery kebabs melt in the mouth tantalizing your taste buds and you enjoy each and every bite of it. Not only chicken but beef, lamb meat, prawns and scallops also form great substitute to this delectable silky smooth dish. Later it became popular in different parts of the world. Its variation is served world wide in hotels, restaurants, pubs and bars. The dish is simple and can be prepared at home as well. So impress your friends this party with the exotic Reshmi Kebab.

Ingredients:-

6 almonds

6 jalapeno peppers chopped,

8 cloves garlic,

1 inch piece peeled fresh ginger root,

1 cup chopped fresh cilantro,

salt to taste,

1 juiced lemon,

1/2 cup heavy cream,

2 boneless chicken breast halves,

2 tablespoons butter.

Preparation Method:-

1. Soak almonds in a small bowl for 20 minutes. Discard water. Blend almonds, salt, ginger, cilantro, peppers and garlic in a mixer.

2. Form a paste. Make the paste smooth by adding lemon juice and cream. Now the mixture is silky smooth.

3. Take a non metallic bowl and pour in the thick mixture. Add chicken and mix well. Place the bowl in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Do not forget to cover it.

4. Heat the grill. Grease it. Now add chicken to the skewers stick. Cook chicken until it becomes tender. Brush melted butter onto the chicken just before serving.

5. Relish the luxurious Reshmi Kebab with mint sauce or desired dip.
