Cheers with Beer on Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest, the 16 days beer fest is celebrated in Germany annually, for the honor of Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig’s marriage. The vibrant fest stretches from September 19 to October 4, 2015. Let’s revive some facts and yummz.

  • It must not be surprising if I say around 2 million beer gallons is consumed by 6 million people at the fest.

  • Different tents offer different kind of beer.

  • Capacity a tent can accommodate is 10,000 people.

  • The traditional stein costs around $13 (33 Ounces).

  • People with hangover can rest on the beds arranged by the Red Cross society.

  • Best recipes offered on the fest includes:-

Ginger beer,

6 Blueberries,

3 Mint leaves,

4 Strawberries,

1½ oz. Sour Mix,

1½ oz. Tequila.

Preparation Method:-

  1. Muddle strawberries, blueberries, and mint leaves in a cocktail shaker.

  2. Add tequila and sour mix. Shake vigorously and strain into a glass filled with ice. Top with beer. Enjoy!

1 Lime zest,

1 bottle Beer,

1½ oz. Lime Juice,

½ oz. Agave Nectar,

Lime wheel for Garnishing.

Preparation Method:-

  1. Combine lime juice, agave nectar, and lime zest in a glass.

  2. Add beer and stir gently. Garnish with a lime wheel. Enjoy!

The dish is eye tonic for the foodaholics. Not only ultimate satisfier for the taste buds but filled with the health nutrients, this delectable dish is best for people of all age groups.

According to U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council, blueberries have more antioxidants than any other fresh fruits or vegetables tested. They lower the risk of age-related muscular degeneration. Lot of minerals are present in almonds which include calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron and zinc. These nuts are rich in vitamin E. Filled with taste and nutrients, Blueberry and Almond Tart is something that cannot to be missed especially on the auspicious occasion of Christmas.


85 grams softened butter,

175 grams caster sugar,

175 grams ground almonds,

2 Pcs eggs,

125 grams punnet blueberries,

2 Pcs-24 cm cooked shortcrust pastry tart case,

icing sugar for dusting,

few drops almond extract.

Preparation Method:-

1. Heat oven to 190C/170C fan/gas 5. Beat together the butter and sugar until it is light and fluffy, about 1 minute.

2. Stir in the almonds, egg and almond extract. Stir in half the blueberries and spoon into the pastry case.

3. Smooth the top using the back of a metal spoon, then scatter over the remaining blueberries, pressing them in lightly.

4. Bake for 50 minutes until the pastry is crisp and golden, and the filling is golden and feels firm to the touch.

5. Cool the tart for 10 minutes in the tin, then lift onto a serving plate.

6. Dust with a little icing sugar and serve warm or at room temperature.

Christmas Cracker Chocolate Chips Muffins Recipe

Chocolate Chip Muffin

Christmas morning and the beginning of the splendid New Year must be accompanied by a sumptuous breakfast. Homemade muffins are always something to look forward to during the Christmas and New year holidays. The mildly sweetened crackers are loved by people of all age groups.

Graham cracker crumbs lend a hearty texture to a chocolate treat so it maintains the characteristics of a muffin, rather than an over-sized cupcake, perfect to pack in a lunchbox. With sweet chocolate chips that serves as premier source for truffles and cookie treats, the spirit of festival becomes even sweeter.


1 cup chocolate graham cracker crumbs,

3/4 cup all-purpose flour,

3/4 cup whole-wheat flour,

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder,

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder,

1/2 teaspoon baking soda,

1/4 teaspoons salt,

2 large eggs,

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar,

1/4 cup granulated sugar,

1 cup buttermilk,

3 tablespoons canola oil,

1 teaspoon instant coffee powder,

1 teaspoon vanilla extract,

blueberry (optional),

1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips.

Preparation method:-

1. Preheat oven to 400 D F. Coat 12 muffin cups with cooking spray.

2. Pulse graham crackers into crumbs in a food processor or place in a large plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin.

3. Whisk all-purpose flour, whole-wheat flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Stir in graham cracker crumbs.

4. Whisk eggs, brown sugar and granulated sugar in a medium bowl until smooth.

5. Add buttermilk, oil, coffee and vanilla and whisk until blended. Make a well in the dry ingredients; add the wet ingredients and stir with a rubber spatula until just combined.

6. Gently fold in chocolate chips and chopped blueberries. Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin cups.

7. Bake the muffins until the tops spring back when touched lightly, 25 minutes.

8. Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes. Loosen edges and turn muffins out onto a wire rack to cool.
